Eric Adams is right: Dems should take note of his success in NYC’s primary

“If the Democratic Party fails to recognize what we did here in New York, they’re going to have a problem in the midterm elections, and they’re going to have a problem in the presidential election.”

That wasn’t some Republican, like Rudy Giuliani warning Dems to crack down on crime as he successfully did in the ’90s. It was one of the Democrats themselves, Eric Adams, urging party mates to note his performance in Tuesday’s Democratic mayoral primary, after he made public safety a top priority: Adams is in first place by a full 10 points after the first round of ranked-choice tallies. “America is failing in running cities,” he declared — a charge aimed squarely at fellow Democrats who preside over most of America’s big cities, which are enduring an ugly surge in violent crime. Homicides in those cities are up 30 percent, as President Joe Biden himself admitted.
