Environment Minister commences tiger rallies across 51 reserves

Union Environment Minister Bhupender Yadav on October 2 kicked off tiger rallies in 18 tiger range States across 51 reserves in the country as part of 'Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav' and Wildlife Week celebrations.
The rallies will cover a distance of over 7,500 km in seven days (October 2 to October 8) traversing the diverse and picturesque landscapes spanning across India.
The minister kicked off the rally virtually in three tiger reserves— Biligiri Ranganathaswamy Temple (BRT) Tiger Reserve in Karnataka, Navegaon Nagzira Tiger Reserve in Maharashtra and Sanjay Tiger Reserve in Madhya Pradesh by waving a green flag.

Dakshina Kannada Zilla Panchayat has rolled out digital mode of water bill generation and collection in 23 gram panchayats on a pilot basis for the first time in Karnataka. This is set to be extended to the remaining 200 panchayats shortly, according to the Zilla Panchayat Chief Executive Officer Narwade Vinayak Karbhari.
