
Engineering student held in Tirupati for having contact with ISIS, planning terror attack

Police arrested an engineering student in Tirupati for allegedly having contacts with ISIS and planning a terror attack.
A third year engineering student was arrested for allegedly having contacts with terror outfit ISIS and planning a terror attack. He was arrested after a nationwide search in 29 locations was conducted by several Intelligence units.
The student was identified as Mir Anas Ali from Ambur is a student in a private engineering college.
Ambur Police had reportedly been watching Mir Anas Ali’s movements for several months after getting information based on a tip.
On Thursday, he was arrested by the police and a case was registered under sections 121, 122, 125 of IPC and 18, 18A, 20, 38 and 39 under UAPA against Mir Anas Ali.
According to police sources, Mir Anas Ali was in contact with ISIS men and was reportedly getting ready for a terror attack involving setting bombs in sensitive areas, murdering a VIP in Vellore to spread terror. “He had used Telegram and other secure chat platforms for communication”, said the police sources.
This was reportedly unearthed by the Intelligence Bureau, Special Investigation Unit, Q-Branch and SB-CID, who then grilled him for several hours and handed him over to Ambur Police, said the sources.

A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He reiterated his support for Shivakumar to take over as the chief minister.

India's original Dhurandhar, Ravindra Kaushik, rose from acting at college theatres, to infiltrating the Pakistan Army as a RAW Agent. He provided critical intelligence on Pakistani troop movements and the country's nuclear programme, but died a lonely death after his betrayal and subsequent capture by the ISI.
