The ED attached assets worth Rs 33.84 crore of Kerala-based Popular Finance Group and its promoters in a cheating case.
The Enforcement Directorate has attached assets worth Rs 33.84 crore of Kerala-based Popular Finance Group and its promoters under Prevention of Money Laundering Act in a cheating case, officials said.
The attached assets include 11 immovable properties consisting of land and building in Kerala, 11.85 kg gold, 19 fixed deposits of promoters, Rs 3.79 crore cash, balance in 208 bank accounts of Popular Finance Group entities, and 291 treasury deposit accounts.

A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He reiterated his support for Shivakumar to take over as the chief minister.
