The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has arrested former Mumbai top cop Sanjay Pandey for illegally snooping on NSE employees.
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) arrested former Mumbai top cop Sanjay Pandey in Delhi on Tuesday in a money laundering case linked to the alleged illegal snooping on National Stock Exchange (NSE) employees, officials said.
Earlier in the day, Pandey was questioned in the same case, officials said. Sanjay Pandey was placed under arrest after his day-long questioning on Tuesday. This is the second consecutive day that the retired Indian Police Service (IPS) officer was questioned by the federal probe agency in the case.
The former police officer had to reply to questions related to the business and operations of a firm started by him for a security audit of the NSE.
His statements were recorded under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), officials said.
