The ED on Thursday arrested the chairman of a Benguluru-based co-operative credit society in a Rs 250 crore cheating case.
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has arrested the chairman of Benguluru-based Krantiveer Sangolli Rayanna Urban Co-operative Credit Society in a Rs 250 crore cheating case, officials said on Thursday.
Anand Balakrishna Appugol has been arrested under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) for his alleged role in duping people to the tune of Rs 250 crore.

A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He reiterated his support for Shivakumar to take over as the chief minister.
