Senior DMK leader A Raja has been barred from campaigning by the EC over his remarks against Tamil Nadu Chief Minister E Palaniswamy.
The Election Commission has barred DMK leader A Raja from campaigning in the state for 48 hours. The poll body also delisted A Raja’s name from the list of star campaigners for the DMK. EC reprimands DMK leader A Raja for violation of model code of conduct, delists his name from list of star campaigner of DMK & debars him from campaigning for 48 hrs with immediate effect upon not finding his reply regarding his remarks over Tamil Nadu CM&his mother,satisfactory. pic.twitter.com/6gosJewxUm The action against the senior DMK leader came after the poll body found him guilty of violating the Model Code of Conduct by making derogatory remarks about Tamil Nadu Chief Minister K Palaniswami. In its order, the EC reprimanded A Raja for violation of the MCC, delisted his name from the list of star campaigners of the DMK and debarred him from campaigning for 48 hours "with immediate effect."
A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He reiterated his support for Shivakumar to take over as the chief minister.

He was allegedly threatened with his life over the delay in repayment. Fearing for his life, Sachin immediately alerted the police.
