New Jersey has been hit by more than 45 aftershocks following last week’s 4.8-magnitude earthquake — including one that rattled the Garden State on Wednesday morning.
The 2.6-magnitude quake — the 46th aftershock — hit near Gladstone around 10:22 a.m., the US Geological Survey said.
It was felt by just under 80 people, according to the USGS.
Three more tremors were reported Tuesday, with magnitudes of 1.3, 1.4 and 1.5, NJ Advance Media reports.
There were also four aftershocks reported across Hunterdon County on Monday, including one that came just as the sun was re-emerging from the moon’s shadow, according to the Philadelphia Inquirer.
Dozens more occurred over the weekend.

Imagine if Allied intelligence had located Adolf Hitler in late May 1944 and killed him before the Normandy invasion. Imagine that in the same hour, strikes eliminated Hitler’s designated successor, the head of the German Armed Forces High Command, the chief operational planner of the war effort, Field Marshal Erwin Rommel, responsible for defending Western Europe, and the rest of Germany’s field marshals and senior commanders.
