Andhra Pradesh MLA Dharmana Prasad Rao sparked backlash after allegedly saying that sanitation workers should dump garbage in front of houses of people who refuse to pay the garbage tax in Visakhapatnam.
"What if garbage collection does not take place? Why make it a big deal to pay Rs 100 collection fee. Garbage must go for processing. Tell everyone to pay. If not, we will leave it [garbage] in front of houses," Rao said.

A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He reiterated his support for Shivakumar to take over as the chief minister.
