
Drunk man thrashes grandmother over pension in Telangana; arrested

A drunk man thrashed his grandmother to extort the pension amount she had in Telangana's Vikarabad district.
A drunk man assaulted his maternal grandmother to extort the pension amount she had. The incident took place on August 29 in Vikarabad district, Peddemul Mandal, Telangana.
The man has been identified as Govardhan. He had inhumanely assaulted an old lady, who is said to be his maternal grandmother Yashodamma. Govardhan was arrested after the matter came to light.
In a viral video, Govardhan was seen thrashing his maternal grandmother.
According to the Peddemul Police sub-inspector, the man extorted money of Rs 2,000 for his lavish needs by physically assaulting his maternal grandmother, which she received as a pension, and fled away from the spot.
A case was registered on September 2 after the incident came to light. The accused Govardhan has been arrested. Meanwhile, the condition of the lady Yashodamma is stable.
