
Drug peddler in Tamil Nadu’s Dindigul mowed down by truck while trying to flee police

Ponnusamy, a drug dealer, was nabbed by Dindigul Police for selling ganja to migrants. While transporting him to the station, he jumped off the two-wheeler and tried to flee, but he was mowed down by a truck driver.
Vedachandhur Police in Tamil Nadu’s Dindigul district was transporting a man who was allegedly selling ganja to migrants. While he was being taken to the station, he tried to escape but ended up getting mowed down by a truck.
Police stated that Ponnusamy from Theni was allegedly selling ganja to migrant workers employed in the textile industry.
A special team surrounded Ponnusamy and nabbed him. They also recovered several packets of ganja from him.
Then, while he was being taken on a two-wheeler to the police station, Ponnusamy apparently tried to escape by jumping off the bike. Unfortunately, Ponnusamy was hit by a truck and died on the spot.
Ponnusamy’s body was then sent to Karur Government hospital for post-mortem, while the driver of the vehicle has been arrested and an investigation has been initiated.

A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He reiterated his support for Shivakumar to take over as the chief minister.
