Visually impaired students called it a dream come true to meet Raj Thackeray on stage during a rally in Pune on Sunday.
Visually impaired students who attended Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray's rally in Pune on Sunday said it was a dream come true to meet him on stage. MNS chief Raj Thackeray invited the students onto the stage after he spotted them in the crowd. He also instructed party workers to make arrangements so they could be seated in the first row.
Later, Raj Thackeray met with the students and gave them words of encouragement.
The students told India Today that they were overwhelmed when the MNS chief invited them to stand next to him on the stage. A student, Karan Ambad said, "I had never imagined that I would get a chance to be on stage next to Raj Thackeray ji, but I used to think that some day I would get to meet him. Today felt like a dream-come-true for me."
Talking about Raj Thackeray's speech, he said, "I really feel that the loudspeaker issue must be dealt with at the earliest." He also applauded Raj Thakeray's claim that younger applicants from Maharashtra should be given preference for employment. Thackeray said people from other states come to Maharashtra to look for jobs, thus reducing job opportunities for the youth of the state.
Karan also suggested that other political parties should follow Raj Thackeray and make special sitting arrangements for visually impaired or specially abled people during public gatherings.

A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He reiterated his support for Shivakumar to take over as the chief minister.

India's original Dhurandhar, Ravindra Kaushik, rose from acting at college theatres, to infiltrating the Pakistan Army as a RAW Agent. He provided critical intelligence on Pakistani troop movements and the country's nuclear programme, but died a lonely death after his betrayal and subsequent capture by the ISI.
