Dr. Mehmet Oz, the administrator of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, on Wednesday puzzled people with talk about credit cards.
The former heart surgeon appeared on Laura Ingraham’s Fox News show to discuss a pledge from the largest U.S. health insurers to speed up the process of prior authorization.
Ingraham asked how the companies’ compliance can be monitored.
“We have insisted on a dashboard. They have to be public at what they are doing,” replied Oz. “We want to know, for example, by the end of this year, can you do these examinations instantaneously?”
He then confusingly added:
