
Don’t patronize us: India's UN envoy tells Netherlands' ambassador to UK on tweet over Ukraine

India's UN envoy TS Tirumurti told the ambassador of the Netherlands to the UK to "not patronize" India after the latter commented on India abstaining in the UN General Assembly on Ukraine.
Indian envoy to the UN TS Tirumurti engaged in a Twitter spat with the ambassador of the Netherlands to the UK on Friday after the latter said India should not have abstained in the UN General Assembly on Ukraine.
"Kindly don't patronize us Ambassador. We know what to do," TS Tirumurti told Karel van Oosterom when he made the comment about India abstaining in the General Assembly.

Tirumurti delivered a statement at the UN Security Council meeting on Wednesday on the Russia-Ukraine issue.
He posted the full text of his statement on Twitter saying "At the UN Security Council meeting on Ukraine this afternoon, I made the following statement".

Responding to this, Karel van Oosterom made the comment about India abstaining in the General Assembly. "You should not have abstained in the GA. Respect the UN Charter," Karel van Oosterom said in a tweet, to which Tirumurti reacted.

A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He reiterated his support for Shivakumar to take over as the chief minister.
