The "Daily Show" host said the president sent a very clear message to struggling Americans.
“Daily Show” host Jon Stewart called out President Donald Trump for throwing a lavish “Great Gatsby” party as millions of Americans were losing access to food due to the government shutdown.
Trump’s insiders claim he’s working nonstop, with Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins going so far as to say he’s been working “seven days a week, 20 hours a day.”
But Stewart showed what he’s really been doing with footage of the 1920s-themed party at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort.
“That’s what he was doing this weekend!” an outraged Stewart said. “He wasn’t working for the American people. That was just some ‘Hollywood Babylon’ shit that once and for all shows that Donald Trump doesn’t give fuck about even looking like he gives a fuck. Doesn’t give a fuck at all.”
Stewart noted that the party took place “the very night” that SNAP benefits ― commonly called “food stamps” ― were set to run out.
The reality TV pair haven’t explained why they deleted photos of the Sussexes.
