Palaniswami warns DMK of downfall for including 'traitors' from AIADMK, asserting the party's strength and commitment to women's welfare.
AIADMK recognises the individuals who work for it, unlike the DMK that prioritises the CM’s family; Magalir Urimai Thittam was implemented only after pressure from AIADMK, he says
AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami on Sunday said the ruling DMK would face the consequences for associating with “traitors” expelled from the AIADMK, and that their inclusion would eventually lead to the DMK’s downfall.
Addressing a public meeting at Perundurai in Erode district as part of his State-wide election tour, Mr. Palaniswami said former AIADMK leader O. Panneerselvam had attempted to weaken the party after the death of former Chief Minister Jayalalithaa.
Mr. Panneerselvam had forgotten how the party and its leadership had given him the opportunity to serve as the Chief Minister (thrice), he said.
Referring to former Minister V. Senthilbalaji, Mr. Palaniswami alleged that protecting himself was his priority and that the party came second to his personal interests.
Responding to Chief Minister M.K. Stalin’s remark that the BJP would destroy the AIADMK, Mr. Palaniswami said the party was strong and no force could weaken it.
