AIADMK deputy general secretary accuses DMK of stalling projects in Krishnagiri, highlighting failures in governance and law enforcement.
The ruling Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) stalled the projects introduced during the AIADMK regime, alleged the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) deputy general secretary K.P. Munusamy on Sunday.
After inaugurating a blood donation camp organised as part of former Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami’s birthday celebrations in Krishnagiri, Mr. Munusamy said everyone knew that DMK had not done anything for Krishnagiri district. During the four years when Mr. Palaniswami was the Chief Minister, two major irrigation projects - the Ennekolputhur irrigation project and the Aliyalam-Thoolchetti project - were announced at ₹300 crore for Krishnagiri. But these projects were stalled after the DMK came to power.
Stalling the projects brought for the welfare of farmers was an achievement of the DMK government, he said. Likewise, a flower auction centre was provided to Krishnagiri district at ₹21 crore in the AIADMK regime. When the work was nearing completion, the DMK came to power, and the auction centre is not functional.
In the four years of DMK government, no projects were announced and law and order was at its worst. A former district Collector (U. Sagayam) claiming that he required protection to appear in court proved the law and order situation in the State, Mr. Munusamy added.
Responding to a question on changing the portfolio of ministers, Mr. Munusamy said the Chief Minister should take responsibility for all the mistakes of the ministers.

After mandating pet dog licensing and microchipping, Greater Chennai Corporation (GCC) bids to do the same for cattle to curb stray cattle issues and man-animal conflicts in the streets. The civic body has moved to make it compulsory for cattle owners to obtain licenses for their animals across all zones.
