‘Diversion’: Union minister on Telangana CM’s decision to float national party

G Kishan Reddy on Saturday criticised the decision of Telangana CM K Chandrasekhar Rao to float a national party, saying that it was to divert attention from people opposing the TRS rule in the state.
After Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao decided to float a national level political party, Union Tourism Minister G Kishan Reddy on Saturday said that in a democracy anyone can form a party but must also act democratically.
The Union minister said, “In a democracy, anyone can form a party, but must also act democratically. Most of the politicians in the party are family members of Chief Minister KCR. That is why they are planning to put up a national party.”
Rao further added, “He is looking to share the country within his family. People are opposing the TRS government rule in Telangana state. This national party concept was brought to divert attention from it. It is up to the people to decide whether to support family rule or to work for the country.”
The Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) chief has reportedly decided to float a national party while continuing to hold the reins in the state.
The party is set to take a final decision on this matter on June 19 at the meeting of the TRS state committee, sources said.
