A day after Jagannath Temple in Puri reopened having remained shut for four months, disability rights activist Jitendra Biswal urged the Odisha government to facilitate 'darshan' for wheelchair-bound devotees. Jitendra Biswal, a Bhubaneswar-based disability rights activist, said the 'darshan' of deities in the Jagannath Temple was not accessible to wheelchair-bound devotees.
A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He reiterated his support for Shivakumar to take over as the chief minister.
