Newly sworn-in Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has said that he and the rebel Shiv Sena MLAs did not do anything wrong by forming a government in the state with the support of the BJP.
Speaking exclusively to India Today, Eknath Shinde said that the alliance of Shiv Sena and BJP is natural.

Shinde said that the MLAs wanted BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis to be a part of the government, adding that they have a comfortable majority and the support of 170 MLAs.
The Maharashtra CM said, "Leaders move from opposition to ruling party but we left the ruling party to carry forward the Hindutva ideology of Balasaheb Thackeray. The MLAs left the MVA government for the development of Maharashtra and their constituencies."

A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He reiterated his support for Shivakumar to take over as the chief minister.
