Dharam Sansad row: Yati Narsinghanand out on bail, protests for release of Jitendra Tyagi

Yati Narsinghanand, who made derogatory remarks about women of a particular religion during a Dharam Sansad in Haridwar, was released from jail.
Yati Narsinghanand was released from jail on Thursday, February 17. After his release, Narsinghanand went to Sarvanand Ghat where he resumed his protest against the arrest of Waseem Rizvi aka Jitendra Narayan Tyagi.
Narsinghanand, a priest at Dasna temple in Ghaziabad, is out on bail. He was arrested by the Uttarakhand Police in the Haridwar hate speech case.
On January 15, Narsinghanand was arrested from Sarvanand Ghat where he was sitting on a hunger strike to protest against the arrest of Tyagi, who is also named in the hate speech case.
He allegedly made derogatory remarks against women of a particular community and hate speech during a three-day “Dharam Sansad” held in December.

In his speech at the event, he reportedly said that “arming the Hindu brigade with bigger and better weapons” would be the “solution” against the “threat of Muslims.”
A religious assembly or 'Dharam Sansad' was held in Haridwar in December 2021. Several Hindu priests allegedly made objectionable and inflammatory statements against Islam at the event.
