
Devendra Fadnavis attacks MVA govt, says two-day monsoon session an attempt to stifle opposition

BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis on Sunday attacked the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government and accused it of deliberately curtailing the monsoon session in order to stifle the Opposition’s voice.
Ahead of the two-day monsoon session of the Maharashtra Legislature, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Devendra Fadnavis hit out at the Uddhav Thackeray-led Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government, accusing it of trying to stifle the Opposition’s voice by deliberately curtailing the session. Former Maharashtra chief minister Devendra Fadnavis also accused the MVA government of trying to “lock democracy” and taking advantage of Covid-19 pandemic to hold the session for just two days.
A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He reiterated his support for Shivakumar to take over as the chief minister.
