Delhi BJP's Minority Morcha protests outside Kejriwal's residence demanding dismissal of AAP legislator convicted in Quran desecration case.
Delhi BJP’s Minority Morcha on Tuesday protested outside former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s residence here, demanding the dismissal of Mehrauli legislator Naresh Yadav from the Delhi Assembly and ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) following his conviction in a case involving the desecration of the Koran in Punjab’s Malerkotla.
A Malerkotla court had on November 30 found the legislator guilty, sentencing him to two years’ imprisonment and imposing a fine of ₹11,000 in the case that dated back to 2016.
The protesters, led by Minority Morcha president Anis Abbasi, raised slogans against Mr. Kejriwal, who is also the AAP national convener, and Mr. Yadav.
Targeting AAP and its INDIA bloc partners, Delhi BJP chief Virendra Sachdeva said had the case involved his party leader, they would have “created an uproar” over the issue.
“Today, Asaduddin Owaisi, the Congress, and the Samajwadi Party are silent,” Mr. Sachdeva said.
He also accused Mr. Kejriwal of sheltering Mr. Yadav and demanded his dismissal from both the Delhi Assembly and AAP.
“This protest is not political one but aims at upholding the sentiments of Muslims,” he said.

In these times of dwindling Anglo-Indian presence even in enclaves with a distinctive Anglo-Indian flavour, this event signifies an effort to preserve a cultural tradition that has enriched Chennai
