Deputy CM for effective coordination between welfare depts. for success of Rajiv Yuva Vikasam

Deputy Chief Minister directs officials to organize Rajiv Yuva Vikasam scheme distribution on State Formation Day.

Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka has directed the officials concerned to effectively organise the programme for distribution of sanction letters under Rajiv Yuva Vikasam scheme to eligible youth on June 2 — the State Formation Day.

The prestigious scheme was conceived to fulfil the aspirations of unemployed youth and it was accordingly decided to distribute sanction letters to selected beneficiaries from June 2 to June 9. This will be followed by training programmes at the district and constituency levels between June 10 and 15 and grounding process (implementation of sanctioned support) subsequently. The scheme envisaged empowerment of five lakh youth with self employment opportunities by October 2, coinciding with Gandhi Jayanti.

The programme should be conducted in phases every month and senior officials of the SC, ST, BC and Minority welfare departments should ensure effective coordination with district collectors and in-charge ministers. Urban youth interested in becoming gig workers should be given opportunity to purchase two-wheelers as part of the Rajiv Yuva Vikasam scheme, he said.

The Deputy Chief Minister wanted the chairpersons of the welfare corporations to receive applications under the scheme and forward all the reviewed applications to the respective district collectors at the earliest. He lamented that welfare departments and the State’s youth were neglected during the 10-year BRS rule. In contrast, the Congress government had decided to provide support to youth from different communities through the Rajiv Yuva Vikasam scheme.

He asserted that no other State in he country had spent ₹8,000 crore in one year for self employment of youth and such significant initiative was made possible by the people’s government under the leadership of Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy.

The State government held a meeting with the State Level Bankers Committee few days ago and the officials concerned were in constant touch with bankers for bringing the scheme to its final stages. He wanted the officials to hold video conference with district collectors and take necessary steps to ensure successful distribution of sanction letters on June 2.
