The Delhi Traffic Police has issued an advisory for New Year's eve to avoid traffic congestion. Strict action shall be taken against drunken driving, overspeeding, reckless driving and other offences.
The Delhi Traffic Police has made elaborate traffic arrangements throughout the city for the smooth flow and regulation of traffic on the eve of New Year. Proper arrangements have been made for the entire city where such celebrations shall be organised. Police said strict action shall be taken against drunken driving, stunt biking, over speeding, reckless driving, zig-zag and dangerous driving.
Special arrangements have been made for the areas in the vicinity of Connaught Place (CP). Further, strict compliance of orders of the Delhi Disaster Management Authority will be implemented (DDMA) will be implemented.

A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.
