
Delhi reports 523 fresh Covid-19 infections, 50 deaths on June 4

Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal had stated that despite the low number of cases, "unlocking" the national capital will be a gradual process.
Delhi on Friday reported 523 fresh cases of Covid-19, higher than Thursday’s recorded figure of 487, according to data shared by the health department. The number of fatalities stood at 50, taking the city’s total death toll due to Covid to 24,497. Active cases reported in the capital were 8,060, the lowest since March 30. Of these active cases, 3,813 are in home isolation. There were 1,161 recoveries in the last 24 hours, taking the total figure to 13,95,892
A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He reiterated his support for Shivakumar to take over as the chief minister.

According to the police, 19-year-old Sachin Dharmendrabhai Chaudhary, who works as a labourer, had borrowed the money before expressing his inability to repay it immediately, police said. He was allegedly threatened with his life over the delay in repayment. Fearing for his life, Sachin immediately alerted the police.
