The Delhi Police has busted an illegal telephone exchange racket where calls were routed from Gulf countries and Pakistan. Initial investigation has revealed that more than two lakh Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) calls were generated from Gulf nations and nearly 50,000 calls were from Pakistan.
The Delhi Police is suspecting that these VoIP calls might have been used to plot terror. In August, Delhi Police’s Special Cell had busted a nexus that was operating a fake call centre and duping people. The mastermind and owner of the call centre was on the run. He has now been arrested in the raid.
