Delhi Police on Friday busted a gang and arrested three people who were posing as ‘spiritual guru and his disciples’ to dupe victims.

The accused have been identified as Love Kumar, Ashu Arora and Rajni Arora.
Police started investigating the matter after a complaint was filed by Shashi Batra. In her complaint, she stated that on January 25, a person came to her and asked for directions for an address. Then, a lady came to her and told her that this person was a follower of Radha Swami and could relieve her from all sorts of trouble.
Both of them took her to a park, asked her to take off her gold jewellery and hand it over to them. They kept the jewellery in a handkerchief and cleverly replaced it with another handkerchief carrying some fake jewellery.
They told Shashi to keep the handkerchief under the pillow while sleeping and open it only in the morning. However, when she woke up, she found iron bangles inside it instead of her gold jewellery. Then, she realised that she had been cheated by them.
A police team was constituted and several CCTVs in the vicinity were thoroughly screened. In one of the footages, it was revealed the accused had come in a red car. Thereafter, CCTV footages of various outgoing /incoming routes was also screened.
After getting the last 4 digits of the car’s registration plate, it was found that the car was registered in the name of Kulwant Singh, a Burari resident. During the enquiry, it was further revealed that Kulwant Singh had sold his car to Joginder Singh, who had further sold it to Love Kumar aka Dabbu.

A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He reiterated his support for Shivakumar to take over as the chief minister.
