
Delhi Police arrests man on the run for two years in 2 murder cases

Delhi Police said that the accused, who is a resident of Mangal Bazar in New Delhi, was arrested following a tip-off.
The Crime Branch of the Delhi Police arrested a wanted criminal who had been absconding for two years in two murder cases.The police said the accused, identified as 28-year-old Jeetu alias Jitender, is a resident of Mangal Bazar in New Delhi. He was arrested following a tip-off."In its effort to trace the wanted criminal, a team of STF, Crime Branch, was formed under the supervision of Manoj C, DCP Crime Branch. The team visited all possible hideouts in Delhi and western Uttar Pradesh. Based on clues and specific information, the team trapped and apprehended the accused," Joint Commissioner of Police, Crime Branch, Alok Kumar said.ALSO READ: BMC marshal clings on to moving car's bonnet to collect fine, video goes viral | Watch During interrogation, Jeetu confessed to his involvement in the two murder cases of Bhalswa Dairy, Kumar said.In 2019, Jeetu, along with his associates, thrashed and stabbed three people - Deepak, Ajay and Amit - in Delhi's Bhalswa Dairy area, the police said. The injured were taken to the hospital. However, Deepak succumbed to his injuries.A case was registered and Jeetu was named the prime accused. Three accused were arrested. However, Jeetu remained on the run till his arrest on Monday. Another accused, Lalit, is still absconding.Jeetu was also accused in another murder case in Delhi's Bhalswa Dairy area.ALSO WATCH: Delhi riots probe: Police under political pressure?
A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He reiterated his support for Shivakumar to take over as the chief minister.

He was allegedly threatened with his life over the delay in repayment. Fearing for his life, Sachin immediately alerted the police.
