Delhi Police arrests four people for defrauding Army officers in insurance scam

The accused duped their targets on the pretext of releasing outstanding insurance maturities, bonuses etc., against processing fees. The officers were collectively duped of around Rs 1.15 crore.

The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of Delhi Police busted a gang and arrested four of its members from Delhi, Faridabad and Kanpur for defrauding army officers who were members of the Army Group Insurance Fund (AGIF). The four arrested gang members have been identified as: Prabhat Kumar, Rupesh Kumar, Ram Naresh and Ram Sagar, police said, adding that efforts to trace and apprehend the other remaining associates are on.
