
Delhi Police arrests 23-year-old man with 8 kg ganja

A 23-year-old man has been arrested by the Delhi Police for supplying ganja in Delhi and NCR areas. Police also seized 8 kg ganja from the accused's possession.
Delhi Police has arrested a 23-year-old man and seized 8 kg of ganja from his possession. The accused, identified as Ghanshyam Kumar Jha, a resident of Mohan Garden, Uttam Nagar, is a budding supplier of ganja in Delhi and NCR areas.
The man was arrested from Vikas Nagar, Ranhola, where he had come to deliver a consignment of contraband to an unknown receiver.
DCP Sameer Sharma said, "In order to curb organized crime in the outer district and to keep watch over the criminals, teams have been constituted. While patrolling in Vikas Nagar area, police noticed the man who was carrying a travel bag. Suspicious, police intercepted him and upon examination of his travel bag, 8 kg ganja was found stuffed in three packets, following which the man was arrested."
During interrogation, he revealed that born in Bihar, he had come to Delhi about 6 years ago. Initially, he did private jobs for his survival and then worked as a fitness trainer at a gym in Vikas Puri. However, due to the Covid outbreak, the gym was closed down, leaving no other source of earning for him.
It was then that he came in contact with drug-peddlers and was lured into becoming a ganja supplier. He forayed into supplying ganja in various parts of Delhi NCR after procuring them from Bihar and Odisha.

A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He reiterated his support for Shivakumar to take over as the chief minister.

He was allegedly threatened with his life over the delay in repayment. Fearing for his life, Sachin immediately alerted the police.
