Delhi: Minimum temperature settles at 27.6 degrees Celsius, IMD predicts clear sky

In Delhi, the minimum temperature settled at 27.6 degrees Celsius on Monday morning. The weather department has predicted a clear sky in the national capital.
On Monday, Delhi recorded a minimum temperature of 27.6 degrees Celsius, three notches above the season’s average. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted mainly clear skies for May 9.
As per the forecast by the Met department, the relative humidity recorded at 8:30 am was 60 per cent in the national capital.
The maximum temperature is likely to touch 41 degrees Celsius by the day's end.
The weather department has issued a yellow alert from May 11 to 15, as the temperatures are expected to rise. The heatwave conditions are also predicted from Tuesday onwards, with maximum temperatures hovering around 44 and 45 degrees Celsius.
Usually, a heatwave is declared when the maximum temperature has crossed the 40 degrees Celsius mark and is at least 4.5 notches above normal temperature.
Yesterday, the maximum temperature settled at 40.4 degrees Celsius, two notches above the season’s average, while the minimum temperature hovered around 25.2 degrees Celsius.
