Delhi High Court has decided to take up only extremely urgent matters for hearing from April 19 onwards in view of the escalating Covid-19 cases.
In view of the escalating Covid-19 cases, Delhi High Court has decided to take up only extremely urgent matters for hearing from April 19 onwards. Only the most urgent cases filed in 2021 will be heard in the Delhi High Court from Monday. No routine or non-urgent matters will be taken up for hearing for now, an official statement read. "...keeping in view the alarming rise in the Covid-19 cases in the NCT of Delhi, it has been ordered that all the honourable benches of this court shall, with effect from 19.4.2021, take up extremely urgent matters filed in the year 2021 only," the statement said. It further added that the routine or non-urgent matters and the matters filed/listed before the Delhi High Court between March 22, 2020 and December 31, 20202, "shall not be taken up by this court and such matters shall be adjourned 'en bloc' as per the dates already notified."
A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.
