Delhi govt to install 18-foot ‘Inquilab Zindabad’ mural at Vidhan Sabha

The original goal was to finish the work in January and unveil it on Republic Day, but the increase in Covid-19 statistics caused the project to be postponed.
The Delhi government will now install an 18-foot-long and six-foot-wide 'Inquilab Zindabad' fiberglass mural near the Jallianwala Bagh mural on the roof of the green room behind the reception in the Delhi Legislative Assembly's premises, following the installation of a six-foot-high Ashoka Emblem atop the building.
"The mural will be placed inside the building. There are photos and murals of Jhansi Ki Rani and others at Vidhan Sabha, but Goel wanted to put up an 'Inquilab Zindabad' mural to honor Shaheed Bhagat Singh, who fought for India's independence.
It would also foster patriotism in the common people and leaders who come to the assembly, motivating them to work for the greater good and fight corruption," a top official at the Delhi Assembly said.
"The mural will be a high relief mural, in transparent white fiberglass glass resin with a minimum thickness of 5 mm-10mm, including attached to the building's wall," a senior PWD official stated. The project's expected cost is Rs 9,11,529.
