
Delhi govt seeks joint action plan with neighbouring states to combat air pollution during winter

Delhi Environment Minister Gopal Rai has sought a joint action plan with neighbouring states of UP, Haryana, Punjab and Rajasthan to combat air pollution during winter season.
Delhi Environment Minister Gopal Rai has sought the creation of a joint action plan which can be enforced in Delhi and neighbouring states to combat air pollution during winters. He will also be meeting the Union Environment Minister Bhupender Yadav and the Centre's Commission for Air Quality Management to discuss the problem of stubble burning in neighbouring states of Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana and Rajasthan.
A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He reiterated his support for Shivakumar to take over as the chief minister.

According to the police, 19-year-old Sachin Dharmendrabhai Chaudhary, who works as a labourer, had borrowed the money before expressing his inability to repay it immediately, police said. He was allegedly threatened with his life over the delay in repayment. Fearing for his life, Sachin immediately alerted the police.
