
Delhi govt launches 24x7 Advanced Green War Room to monitor pollution

The Delhi government launched an Advanced Green War Room that will be operational 24x7. The purpose of the Advanced Green War Room is to implement the Winter Action Plan to monitor pollution.
The Delhi government launched an ‘Advanced Green War Room’ for 24x7 monitoring and robust implementation of the Winter Action Plan.
A 12-member team of scientists and engineers will look after the Green War Room.
During the launch, Delhi Environment Minister Gopal Rai claimed that in the last ten years, Particulate Matter (PM) 10 levels fell by 40%, and PM 2.5 by 31% despite an increasing population.

Environmental Scientist Dr BMS Reddy has been appointed in charge of the war room, and Environmental Engineer NK Joshi as the Assistant In charge. Scientist Dr Nandita Moitra will handle the monitoring desk.
The remaining nine members will assist them and work on the complaints received from the Green Delhi App and ensure implementation of the same in sync with other departments.
The Green Delhi App registers complaints related to pollution from the residents of Delhi.

A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He was allegedly threatened with his life over the delay in repayment. Fearing for his life, Sachin immediately alerted the police.
