Delhi: Doctors remove 106 fibroids from uterus of 29-year-old woman

Doctors at a private hospital in Delhi accomplished the feat of removing 106 fibroids from a woman’s body while preserving her uterus.

Doctors at a private hospital in Delhi managed to remove 106 fibroids (non-cancerous tumours) from a woman’s body and preserve her uterus. After experiencing severe pain, heavy menstrual flow, fainting spells and hemoglobin level of 7.2 mg/dl, the 29-year-old woman was admitted to BLK Max Super Speciality Hospital in February. When an ultrasound was done, it was found that she had multiple fibroids in her uterus. Due to this, her uterus was big enough to fill her entire abdomen, a statement issued by the hospital said.
