Deep Tech offers effective solution to healthcare challenges, says Andhra Pradesh Health Minister Satya Kumar. Given the limited success of traditional methods of tackling communicable and non-communicable diseases, the Deep Tech tools help in understanding the recurrent pattern of diseases, analysing the causes, forecasting outbreak, suggesting preventive measures, and recommending precise treatment protocols, he says. Ensuring ‘health for all’ is a challenging task, given the demographic, geographic and income diversities, and evolving healthcare needs and infrastructure gaps, he adds.
Andhra Pradesh Minister of Health, Family Welfare and Medical Education Satya Kumar Yadav has said adoption of Deep Tech will go a long way in effectively tackling both communicable and non-communicable diseases.
Mr. Satya Kumar was speaking at the Deep Tech Conclave on Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning organised in Visakhapatnam on December 6, 2024 (Friday).
Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu was the chief guest at the conclave.
Ensuring ‘health for all’ was a challenging task, given the demographic, geographic and income diversities, and evolving healthcare needs and infrastructure gaps, the Health Minister said.
“Ensuring equitable, accessible and quality healthcare is a daunting task with a sizeable population living in the rural and tribal area,” he observed.
Even as efforts were made to tackle communicable, water- borne and vector-borne diseases, the major challenge was the emerging non-communicable diseases (NCDs), the incidence of which had been increasing due to changing lifestyles, Mr. Satya Kumar said.
“Traditional methods of handling these challenges have had limited success, calling for new approaches to contain both kinds of challenges,” he said.
