Telugu Desam Party (TDP) president N Chandrababu Naidu on Saturday asked party MPs to demand the Centre to declare the heavy floods in Andhra Pradesh as a 'national calamity' in the Parliament session beginning Monday.
At the parliamentary party meeting of the TDP, Naidu asked the MPs to put pressure for a judicial inquiry into the YSRCP government's alleged negligence in the handling of the flood situation in the state.

A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He reiterated his support for Shivakumar to take over as the chief minister.
