De Blasio says Bernie Madoff’s death ‘not a time to dance on a grave’

Mayor Bill de Blasio on Wednesday acknowledged the “many, many victims” hurt by Bernie Madoff — but insisted his death was “not a time to dance on a grave.”
“Look, [it’s] a very sad episode in the history of this city, and a lot of people unfortunately were hurt,” Hizzoner said at his press briefing Wednesday of the late crook’s $65 billion Ponzi scheme. “The day someone passes is not a time to dance on a grave, but let’s just be honest: Many, many people were hurt by his actions,” he said soon after hearing about Madoff’s death.More Related News
