Jordan Klepper mocked the president for making peace with himself.
“Daily Show” correspondent Jordan Klepper scorched President Donald Trump on Thursday after the U.S. Institute of Peace was renamed in his honor.
The State Department confirmed the change on social media, writing that the new name reflects “the greatest dealmaker in our nation’s history.” The department also shared a snap showing the president’s name on the facade of the building that houses the independent nonprofit, which was established by President Ronald Reagan in 1984 and is funded by Congress.
Klepper noted that the agency was one of the first that the Trump administration tried to shut down earlier this year.
“But now it looks like he’s had a change of heart ― and wall,” said Klepper before tossing to CNN coverage of the renaming.
Klepper also shared a simply “wonderful” reaction to the building makeover.
BD Wong called his comment a "very bad joke" and admitted it was unacceptable for him to try and "explain" away his offensive remark.
