
Covid situation under control to hold bypolls for 7 assembly seats: Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee

West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee said that the Covid-19 situation in the state is now under control for the bypolls for seven vacant assembly seats to be held.
A six-member delegation of Trinamool Congress (TMC) MPs met the Election Commission in Delhi over demanding that bypolls on seven vacant West Bengal Assembly seats are held at the earliest, party leaders said. West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, meanwhile, said that the state government has already informed the ECI that they are ready to conduct both bypolls of seven MLA seats as well as that for the two Rajya Sabha vacancies.
A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He reiterated his support for Shivakumar to take over as the chief minister.
