A couple allegedly died by suicide and their bodies were found floating in Shivnath river in Durg district, Chhattisgarh.
A young couple allegedly died by suicide and their bodies were found floating in the Shivnath river in Durg district, Chhattisgarh. Their clothes were tied and therefore both the bodies were found together.
On receiving the information, the Kotwali police station in-charge, SN Singh, reached the spot with his team. The bodies were taken out of the water and sent for post-mortem.
The deceased, identified as Ritesh Verma alias Damru (20) and Pooja Gupta (16), were both residents of Supela. Reportedly, they had a love affair and wanted to get married.
However, their families did not agree to the marriage. On May 31, both of them left their houses. Since then, a search was being carried out for both of them.
Further investigation is underway.
