Two friends who were staying in the same hotel room with Kanpur businessman Manish Gupta, who died after allegedly being beaten up by UP policemen, have recalled the entire incident saying the cops barged into their room at midnight and hit the deceased on his head, leading to severe injuries.

Six UP policemen have been suspended over the death of Manish Gupta and have also been booked on murder charges. After his death on Monday, Gupta’s wife was seen in a video crying for justice even as the police maintained that he died after falling on his own.
