
COPEN 13 begins at NIT-C

Suhas S. Joshi inaugurates COPEN 13 conference at NIT-C with focus on precision engineering and AI solutions.
Suhas S. Joshi, Director of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Indore, inaugurated the 13th International Conference on Precision, Meso, Micro, and Nano Engineering (COPEN 13) at the National Institute of Technology - Calicut (NIT-C) on Friday.
The three-day conference is jointly organised by NIT-C, IIT Palakkad, Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology (IIST), Thiruvananthapuram, and NIT-K Surathkal.
Speakers on the occasion mentioned the need for domain expertise together with skill set in artificial intelligence and machine learning to solve complex manufacturing problems.
NIT-C Director Prasad Krishna, COPEN Chairman Ravi Raghavan, Co-Chairman V. Radhakrishnan, IIT Palakkad Director Sheshadri Sekhar, and Srikanth Bontha of NITK Surathkal were present. IIST Director Dipankar Banarjee addressed the audience online.
Around 350 researchers and academicians from across the globe are taking part in the conference. The inaugural day featured six keynote addresses by experts and researchers in various fields. The conference includes a series of technical sessions, workshops, and presentations highlighting cutting-edge research and innovations from researchers.
