Two drug peddlers have been arrested after nearly 1,843 kg of drugs, including California Weed and yaba tablets were recovered from their possession at Prinsep Ghat on Saturday. The contraband seized was worth Rs 7 lakh.

According to a report published in the Times of India (TOI), the accused have been identified as Sk Imroj (38) of Tiljala lane and Md Samir Ahmed (35) of Kidderpore.
Upon interrogation, the duo revealed that the parcel containing drugs had been shipped from the USA.
Meanwhile, in another case of drug peddling, two drug peddlers were arrested in January after nearly two kg of charas, a narcotic substance, was recovered from their possession.
"We have recovered 1.99 kg of charas worth Rs 20 lakh from their possession," said a senior police official.
