A container truck carrying bottles of shampoo and perfume caught fire on the national highway in Gujarat’s Valsad.
A container truck on its way to Ahmedabad from Mumbai carrying bottles of shampoo and perfume caught fire on the national highway in Gujarat’s Valsad in the wee hours of Saturday.
The incident took place near Motiwada village. All products in the vehicle were reduced to ashes. Five fire tenders rushed to the spot to douse the fire.

"As soon as we got the information, we reached the spot. The truck was on its way from Mumbai to Ahmedabad carrying bottles of shampoo and perfume. We saw that there was an explosion. It took one and a half to two hours to douse the fire," said Divyesh Patel, Fire Officer, Pardi, Valsad.

A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He reiterated his support for Shivakumar to take over as the chief minister.
