K.C. Venugopal meets CM Stalin to discuss Congress's seat-sharing expectations for the upcoming Tamil Nadu Assembly polls.
Congress general secretary (organisation) K.C. Venugopal arrived at DMK president and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin’s Alwarpet residence on Sunday (February 22, 2026) night to hold discussions about the upcoming Assembly election in Tamil Nadu.
The DMK had actually invited the Congress seat-sharing committee for talks on February 26 or 27. Against this backdrop, Mr. Venugopal’s meeting with Mr. Stalin assumes significance as the Congress is still pressing for more seats — in 2021 it was given 25 seats.
Mr. Venugopal is expected to convey his party high command’s expectations to Mr. Stalin. He was accompanied by Tamil Nadu Congress Committee (TNCC) president Selvaperunthagai and Ajit Chodankar, in-charge of the TNCC. Sources said the Congress delegates handed over a sealed envelope from party leader Sonia Gandhi.

The paired bins are found in front of bus stops, park entrances, petty shops, and probably elsewhere too. They are not shrinking violets hiding themselves in a corner of the road, but put themselves on the frontlines choosing a patch on the carriageway. They are grouted into the carriageway. In some bus stands, they do not come across as intrusive. In others, they do. In the latter, one wonders if they would not be in the way of commuters embarking on and disembarking from a bus ride.
