Margaretta, trained by Pesi Shroff, triumphs in the Poonawalla Breeders’ Multi-Million, showcasing impressive racing skill.
Trainer Pesi Shroff’s filly Margaretta, ridden by Vivek G, won the Poonawalla Breeders’ Multi-Million (Gr. 1), the stellar attraction of Sunday’s (Feb. 22) races. The winner is owned by Mr. Mehernosh H. Deboo.
Vivek rode a tactically astute race aboard the daughter of Belardo out of Ibza, keeping her well settled in seventh position until the bend. As the field turned for home, she was skilfully manoeuvred by her pilot through the crowded mid-pack, securing a timely opening at a crucial stage.
Responding gamely, Margaretta quickened past leader Lady Scarlet to win comfortably. She was lesser fancied in the betting ring available at 14 to 1.

The paired bins are found in front of bus stops, park entrances, petty shops, and probably elsewhere too. They are not shrinking violets hiding themselves in a corner of the road, but put themselves on the frontlines choosing a patch on the carriageway. They are grouted into the carriageway. In some bus stands, they do not come across as intrusive. In others, they do. In the latter, one wonders if they would not be in the way of commuters embarking on and disembarking from a bus ride.
