
Congress criticises UP govt's vaccination drive, alleges abrupt cancellation of appointment with Governor

The Uttar Pradesh unit of Congress on Friday criticised the state government over the alleged slow pace of vaccination against Covid-19. They also alleged that Governor Anandiben Patel's appointment was abruptly cancelled.
The Uttar Pradesh Congress on Friday attacked the Yogi Adityanath government over the alleged slow pace of vaccination against coronavirus, and claimed that at this rate it would take 13 years to inoculate the state's 22 crore population. Uttar Pradesh Congress chief Ajay Kumar Lallu also said they had sought Governor Anandiben Patel's appointment to raise this and other issues related to the coronavirus crisis, which was granted before being "abruptly cancelled". It is against democratic norms and sets a wrong precedent, he said.
A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He reiterated his support for Shivakumar to take over as the chief minister.
